More Shops Coming to Larchmont – Larchmont Buzz

More shops are coming to Larchmont: Faherty, Levain Bakery, Jon and Vinny’s Cookbook are all coming; Res Ipsa and Flannel have already opened! Faherty will open at 219 N. Larchmont (the old Pickett Fences space) later this year. Photo shows Larchmont Lane, a pop-up store that was located at 219 earlier this year.

We are keeping tabs on several new businesses coming to Larchmont later this year. While we don’t have opening dates, we have spoken with representatives of the businesses to confirm they are definitely coming to Larchmont.

First, representatives of Faherty Clothing told us they are excited about coming to Larchmont later this year. They will be taking the space at 219 N. Larchmont, formerly the home of Pickett Fences (and, more recently, the pop-up retailer shown above). Faherty is a family-run clothing business creating comfortable fashion for the entire family, with a focus on sustainability. It has several stores in the Los Angeles area, including Venice, the Pacific Palisades and Malibu. The brand is also carried at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.

Levain Bakery is planning to open later this year in the this long-empty space, formerly a real estate office.

Just a few doors away, Levain Bakery, will open at 227 N. Larchmont, in a space that has been empty for more than a decade. Recently there have been some pop-up shops in the space while the New York-based business builds out its space.

North of Beverly, Jon and Vinny’s is renovating the old Chan Dara space (310 N. Larchmont) into what everyone hopes will be a Larchmont location of Cookbook, a neighborhood micro-grocery the company acquired in 2020 from the Cookbook founders, who operated two shops – one in Echo Park and one in Highland Park – for the past ten years.

“Cookbook is widely known for its tight collection of upscale produce, small-producer dry goods, and grocery staples like deli meats, wine, and sauces, often drawing long, socially-distant lines at both locations during the pandemic,” reported Eater LA.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for this one as its team works through the city’s permitting process!

While we are waiting for these openings, we can already enjoy one of the new shops that opened earlier this summer. This Sunday, August 7, Res Ipsa is hosting an official opening to celebrate its newest location at 143 N. Larchmont, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Finally, be sure to watch for our story next week about Flannel, the luxury Australian clothing line, that just opened a store last week at 134 N. Larchmont.
