MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are searching for the men caught on camera robbing an AutoZone store not far from the airport in broad daylight. Investigators said the suspects are wanted in several other robberies around Memphis as well.
Police released video of the AutoZone robbery, which happened about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the store in the 3300 block of Winchester Road. Investigators said three men armed with assault rifles walked in while a fourth armed man stood lookout at the door. They said one of the suspects grabbed a clerk and forced him to the back of the store. They forced the employees to open the case register, then took the cash before taking off.
Police said the suspects ran southbound on Tchulahoma Road.
The first suspect was wearing a face mask, orange shirt with long sleeves, black pants, black shoes, no gloves, and armed with an assault rifle.
The second suspect was wearing a black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black face mask, with head covering, armed with a handgun.
The third suspect was wearing gold frame glasses, a black jacket, black pants, and shoes, armed with a black pistol and an extended magazine.
The fourth suspect, who police said appeared to be the one in charge, was wearing a face mask with a head covering, wearing a plaid brown/black lumberjack shirt, black pants, black shoes, armed with a black assault rifle.
