Organisers announce date for ‘Music Fashion Runway’

NMO Management, the organisers of the annual Music Fashion Runway and Game Changer Africa Acknowledgement Award event, have unveiled plans for the eighth edition of the event, which is slated to hold on December 3, 2022, in Lagos. It will be held both online and physically.

The theme for this year is, ‘Fashion Forward: A call to Action for a Green and Sustainable Continent, which empowers and unites young Pan-African Creatives’.

In a statement sent to Merrymakers, the Managing Director of NMO, Ngozi Omambala, expressed delight at being able to resume physical events after two years of holding it virtually and hybrid, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while shining the spotlight on the perils of environment and climate change on the continent.

Past recipients of the Game Changer award include a former Chairman of Punch Newpapers, Wale Aboderin; actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde; actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan; fashion designer, Lanre Da Silva; President of the Silverbird Group, Guy Murray-Bruce; and popular photographer, Kelechi Amadi-Obi.

She added that they planned to have their signature contemporary and cultural showpiece experience as usual, while expanding the platform to include Pan African satellite activities in the lead-up to the event, with open days for the art and cultural community at different museums and galleries across Lagos.

Omambala said, “Our priority, as always, is to produce in a safe and secure environment, a first-class event of live music excellence, while showcasing Pan African fashion.
